What one more table does to a flower order

Work through a twelfth-to-thirteenth table-vase change. See shared stem demand, reserve rounding and supplier pack thresholds change the actual purchase.

One additional arrangement can trigger an entire extra pack. Recalculate the whole event before approving a revised order. Do not multiply the previous order cost by the percentage change in table count.

Start with the bundled example

The synthetic plan contains one bridal bouquet and twelve table vases. Each vase uses 5 blush roses, 3 white ranunculus and 4 eucalyptus stems. The bouquet uses 12, 8 and 6 respectively. Reserve is 10%, with 8 usable roses and 6 eucalyptus stems already available. Prices and pack sizes are hypothetical, not supplier offers.

Load the example in the worksheet, save its JSON if you want a before copy, then change only the Table vase quantity from 12 to 13. Leave recipes, reserve, stock and both suppliers unchanged.

Recalculate demand before buying

VarietyRecipe stems before / afterReserve before / afterStockNet need before / after
Rose - blush72 / 778 / 8872 / 77
Ranunculus - white44 / 475 / 5049 / 52
Eucalyptus54 / 586 / 6654 / 58

The added vase needs 12 recipe stems. Whole-stem reserve stays at 8 roses, 5 ranunculus and 6 eucalyptus because each revised percentage still rounds to the same integer. Reserve is calculated once per shared variety, not once per vase.

Read each supplier's pack threshold

VarietyA pack / priceA packs before / afterB pack / priceB packs before / after
Rose - blush25 stems / CAD 423 / 420 stems / CAD 364 / 4
Ranunculus - white10 stems / CAD 245 / 610 stems / CAD 225 / 6
Eucalyptus10 stems / CAD 166 / 620 stems / CAD 303 / 3

Supplier A's roses cross from 72 to 77 net stems, exceeding the 75 stems in three packs. The fourth pack adds 25 purchased stems for just five additional rose stems of demand. Supplier B already supplied 80 roses, so its rose pack count stays at four. Both suppliers need one more ten-stem ranunculus pack. Neither needs another eucalyptus pack.

Compare complete revised orders

Whole supplier planBeforeAfterIncrease
Supplier ACAD 342CAD 408CAD 66
Supplier BCAD 344CAD 366CAD 22

A was CAD 2 cheaper before the change. B is CAD 42 cheaper afterward. These are two complete supplier plans; this comparison does not optimize a mixed-supplier basket. Prices exclude delivery, tax and labor, and the tool does not evaluate flower quality or supplier reliability.

Update the make list separately

Thirteen table vases allocate 65 roses, 39 ranunculus and 52 eucalyptus stems. The bouquet remains unchanged. Reserve and pack surplus are not assigned to the vases. Keep them available rather than increasing every recipe just to consume a whole bunch.

Download the revised JSON and CSV and print the updated make list. Reconcile any real order already placed with your supplier; changing this worksheet does not amend a purchase.

Blooms By The Box explains that bunch sizes vary, including weight-based products with approximate stem counts. Confirm the actual purchasable unit before applying this arithmetic to an order. Continue with supplier comparison or reserve and stock rules.
